Electrical Engineering Manager
Electrical Engineering Manager provides leadership to the development of our electronics. Works with other functional managers and product leaders to assign responsibilities for the Electrical Engineering team. Sets and maintains the strategic direction of the Electrical Engineering team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Act as the management representative for the functional group of up to 10 team members
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems
- Assess the capacity for work of individuals within the functional group, assigning resources as needed to support multiple concurrent product development efforts.
- Assist in the hiring and/or termination process as required
- Assist in the strategic planning of R&D as required
- Conduct (and/or participate in) special studies
- Create and maintain job descriptions and job description review records
- Develop and maintain procedures for the functional group
- Develop product plans, strategy, and direction for the functional area
- Hold group meetings on a regular, scheduled basis
- Hold regular scheduled job performance appraisals for team members
- Ensure quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of project work
- Plan and conduct training to facilitate professional growth of the functional team
- Support and promote a team environment
- Support the functional needs of other departments
Position Requirements:
- High technical ability coupled with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Superb system design capability with cross-functional (Mechanical, Firmware, Software, etc.) awareness.
- Familiarity with a broad range of Electrical Engineering topics, such as:
- Mixed Signal Design (ADC/DAC) / Measurement Systems
- Microcontroller / Digital design
- Analog design
- Closed loop temperature control systems
- AC design (single phase and three phase)
- High voltage design (1kV and above, typically low power)
- Motor Control
- HMI (human machine interface) design
- System design
- PWB/PCB (printed wire board/printed circuit board) and PWA (printed wiring assembly) experience.
- Wire harness design
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, coordination, and facilitating skills
- Strong awareness of team member/stakeholder needs
- Ability to adjust leadership style to work with a variety of personalities and people
Education/Certifications:
B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 8 years' experience in a product development environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Joseph, MI.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
