Electrical Designer – Custom Automation Solutions

Location: Washington, MO

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Flexible Start Times

About the Role

Are you an innovative problem-solver with a passion for electrical design and automation? Join our team as an Electrical Designer and play a key role in creating custom equipment solutions that drive performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on role where you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams in sales, manufacturing, and assembly, working on projects that push the boundaries of automation technology.

What You'll Do

  • Design & Develop: Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, and machine documentation for custom equipment.
  • Collaborate: Work with controls engineers to design electrical control systems.
  • Support Commissioning: Assist with machine start-up, testing, and debugging both in-house and at customer sites.
  • CAD Expertise: Create and update electrical and pneumatic schematics using Electrical CAD tools.
  • Component Selection: Size and specify electrical and pneumatic components for custom machinery.
  • Documentation: Develop bills of materials and ensure compliance with controls standards.
  • Service Support: Provide troubleshooting assistance for machines in the field and via remote support.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and recommend improvements for new and replacement components.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Minimum 2-year degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in electrical design, preferably in packaging or automation environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electrical Design, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
  • Bonus Skills: Exposure to PLCs, schematic design, and automation systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with packaging machinery and PLC programming.
  • Familiarity with vision systems and dimensional analysis.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, MO.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $43.27/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
