Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer, you will perform both minor and major repairs to production and facility-related equipment. Your role encompasses working with instrumentation, electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform PLC Programming.
  • Follow all general safety regulations and use provided safety equipment as required.
  • Understand ISO 9001 requirements and adhere to established work instructions and procedures.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and rectify machine, facility, and process problems.
  • Complete scheduled Preventative Maintenance duties on machinery.
  • Utilize electrical test equipment for troubleshooting electrical systems to determine corrective actions and repairs.
  • Help maintain inventory control of parts and equipment.
  • Provide training to other electricians and mechanics.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and clean work area, following 5S principles.
  • Cross-train in other positions as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Prefer two-year technical training, Associate's degree, or military training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic mathematical concepts, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with plant engineering and responsible for everything electrical in the plant.
  • Automation/Controls engineering experience.
  • Experience with electrical facilities.
  • Control panel design expertise.

Work Environment:

The work environment includes occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate. Work hours consist of eight hours per day, five days per week on an assigned shift. Schedule hours may be altered based on business needs and may require overtime or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays. You will share a small air-conditioned and climate-controlled office with the Controls Tech, although the plant is not climate-controlled. Equipment used includes electrical test equipment, meters, scopes, and hand tools, which are the employee's responsibility.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
