Electrical Engineer

Senior Hardware Engineer, Pittsburgh, PA

We are seeking a senior hardware engineer to be a key contributor on our R&D team. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in an independent environment and is passionate about solving complex hardware challenges.

What You'll Do

• Lead board-level hardware design efforts for new and legacy product lines.
• Apply deep technical expertise to troubleshoot, reverse engineer, and revitalize older designs where documentation or tribal knowledge may be limited.
• Use creativity and intuition to connect the dots and uncover original design intent.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware designs into broader system architectures.
• Take ownership of projects from concept through execution, with minimal oversight.

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in circuit design and board-level hardware engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a knack for working through ambiguity.
• Ability to work independently, with a proactive and driven mindset.
• A creative thinker who can design circuits from scratch, not just refine or implement existing designs.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with legacy systems and a passion for breathing new life into older technologies.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
