Electrical Engineer

Electrical EIT Opportunity

A small HV Electrical Engineering consulting company is seeking an Electrical EIT to support substation and power systems projects across distribution and high-voltage environments. This role offers flexibility in seniority, with opportunities for early-career EITs through to experienced designers with transferable expertise. The successful candidate will contribute to protection & control (P&C), SCADA, and electrical design, while gaining broad exposure to projects ranging from low-voltage MCCs up to 260kV+ infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

• Support electrical and substation design activities, including single-line diagrams, layouts, and equipment specifications
• Contribute to P&C (Protection & Controls) and/or SCADA design depending on experience level
• Assist with power system studies (e.g., ETAP) and technical analyses
• Work across distribution and high-voltage projects (up to 260kV–345kV exposure)
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver projects on schedule and within scope
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into deliverables

Essential skills include:

• 3–4 year EIT with relevant experience in electrical or power systems
• Some exposure to substation, protection systems, or utility environment

Additional skills and qualifications include:

• Experience with ETAP or other power system analysis tools
• Substation design experience (greenfield or brownfield)
• Familiarity with utility standards and practices
• Exposure to construction or field commissioning environments
• International or transferable experience in electrical infrastructure design
• Knowledge of low voltage to high voltage systems (MCC to 260kV+)

Job type & location: This is a permanent position based out of Calgary, AB.

Pay and benefits: The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

Workplace type: This is a fully onsite position in Calgary, AB.
