Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support our growing MEP backlog of work. You will be involved in starting new projects and assisting with existing ones for VA Medical Centers and OGS projects. Your role will involve performing engineering design calculations and evaluations, and leading project engineering design in accordance with building codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design calculations and evaluations specific to building codes.
• Lead project engineering design with a strong understanding of NYS Building Codes and industry standards.
• Design electrical systems from the pre-schematic phase, conduct energy modeling analysis, energy code compliance calculations, and perform life cycle cost analysis.
• Conduct field site visits during the design phase to document existing conditions, with mileage reimbursement provided.
• Provide construction administration support, including submittal review, RFI responses, periodic site visits for compliance, and punch listing.
• Possess experience in K-12 or Federal work environments.
• Occasional travel is required, with reimbursement at GSA mileage rates.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Ability to work semi-independently with minimal guidance.
• EIT or FE certification, or on track to obtain.
• Strong design skills and understanding of electrical engineering principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• PE license preferred but not required.
• EIT certification is highly desirable.

The position is based in the Rochester office, offering flexibility. You will work under the guidance of a Professional Engineer (PE). Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $52.88/hr.
