Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for UAS platforms. You will collaborate closely with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical systems, develop and maintain schematics, and act as the Avionics liaison between engineering and the production line.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for UAS platforms.
  • Develop and debug microcontroller systems and circuits.
  • Work with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical systems into UAS platforms.
  • Develop and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation for electrical systems in UAS platforms.
  • Act as the Avionics liaison between engineering and the production line.
  • Address and close out non-conformances from the production line.
  • Develop and perform electrical tests and test procedures to verify system functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality electrical systems.

Essential Skills:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting circuits in UAS platforms.
  • Proficiency in Altium for circuit board and harness design.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuits, power supplies, and CAN bus communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in PSpice, Solidworks, Altium, system integration, wire harness design.
  • Experience with wire harness routing and design, digital design, analog design, and analog/digital integration.

Work Environment:

This role operates in a fast-paced environment where engineers have the opportunity to flight test their designs. Designs can be completed and tested within days, offering a dynamic and rewarding work experience.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Luis Obispo, CA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
