This position will prioritize design tasks, particularly during the transition of electronic components to updated, modern standards. Over time, responsibilities will expand to include integrations, troubleshooting, and ultimately implementing design modifications.
Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for various applications
Design responsibilities include, but are not limited to: avionics design, power distribution design, hardware design, transformer design, etc.
Help select electrical design tools for long-term company use
Create and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for proposed projects
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems and components
Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and integrate them into existing and new systems
Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Design, develop, implement, verify and test of the Aerostat, Avionics, Mooring System and/or Ground System
Responsible for the design, development and implementation of engineering processes, methods and products
Participate in design reviews and technical interchange meetings to assess and guide development activities performed by development contractors
Conduct and support internal and customer design reviews
Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution to meet design requirements
Perform technical review and assessment of concepts, systems, technologies, designs, architectures, interfaces, and operation of Aerostat systems
Support production, testing and field operations in improving designs
Conducts testing, develops prototypes and verify/validate system and component performance to specifications
Document engineering drawings, engineering standards, engineering specifications, technical proposals, technical manuals, disclosures and scientific discoveries
Additional Skills & Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering
Proficiency: reading, creating, documenting, and testing electrical drawings
Strong understanding of safety standards (MIL-STD, EMI, EMC, NEC)
PLUS:
Master's in Electrical Engineering
Broad understanding of DoD airborne and ground systems, hardware, software, operations, and their interdependence
Experience with specific Systems Engineering and integration applied to DoD airborne and ground systems
Engineering experience supporting radar or communications integrations for air or ground-based systems
Understand the effective and techniques to manage EMI

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $67.31/hr.
