Manufacturing Design Engineer
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our innovative team. This role involves designing and optimizing manufacturing processes, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities:
- Generate detailed BOMs, engineering datasheets, and control narratives from drawings.
- Assist the Design team to optimize product design for manufacturability and customer specifications.
- Provide engineering and technical support for the layout, design, and evaluation of production equipment.
- Collaborate with department members to provide engineering support.
- Ensure processing equipment design adheres to current standards and incorporates tested and proven new technologies.
- Assist with manufacturing-related tasks such as addressing non-conformance reports (NCRs) and dispositions.
- Work with QA to develop inspection test plans and test stations.
- Support product procurement and resolve open engineering issues with Materials and Quality teams.
- Ensure compliance with the facility's quality management system and inventory control practices.
- Research and implement new equipment designs and new product lines as directed by management.
- Adhere to internal engineering standards.
- Perform various other duties as assigned by the manager.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, application engineering, or design engineering.
- Degree in Mechanical or Design Engineering.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Experience in process improvement and documentation control.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Green Belt concepts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with process orientation and product line experience.
- Knowledge of line setup, line balancing, and assembly processes.
- Experience with time studies and layout of new product lines.
- Automotive experience and sourcing from local suppliers and parts are advantageous.
Work Environment:
The facility houses a total of 16 team members and offers a mix of design and manufacturing floor environments. Currently, there are four product lines with plans to add three more. The work is low volume and not automated, with all assembly done by hand. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a start-up-like atmosphere, willing to contribute to building and shaping the future of the company.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
