Design Engineer

The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components using CAD software such as Creo and Solidworks.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet required specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve design issues.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, models, and documentation.
• Conduct testing and validation of designs to ensure performance and reliability.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mechanical design.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in Solidworks and/or Creo.
• Mechanical design experience.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of GD&T.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Drafting or 3+ years in drafting/design.
• Experience in Bill of Materials creation.
• Preferred experience with GD&T.
• Preferred knowledge in root cause analysis methods (e.g., 8D, 5 Why).
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems is a plus.

Work Environment:

This position involves a 90/10 desk versus floor work ratio. The Design Engineer will work with two other designers in a fast-paced automotive environment. Typical work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. The opportunity offers good tenure and the chance to work on new equipment designs regularly.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, KY.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
