Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise in mechanical design and engineering to develop equipment change points, design specifications, and detailed project documentation. This role involves supporting machine build and installation, performing engineering calculations, and using design software to create various models and drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify equipment change points required to meet engineering specifications and customer specifications using current equipment drawings and new model part prints.
  • Develop design specification documents, concept models, and line layouts detailing the required work.
  • Engage in machine design, modeling, component sizing and specification, and part detailing.
  • Create project documentation including Bill of Material, Spare Parts Lists, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Assembly Procedures and Check Sheets, Repair Procedures, and Project Schedules.
  • Perform engineering calculations to determine machine cycle time, FEA, static/dynamic accuracy, and size machine components.
  • Provide support for machine build and installation.
  • Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD to make layouts, concepts, model comparisons, line arrangement drawings, and Assembly/detail drawings.
  • Perform static and dynamic calculations of equipment and components to meet design criteria.
  • Create Bill of Material and order parts.
  • Use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to create and share project documentation and content.
  • Report project status and lead meetings to gain consensus using verbal and written communication skills.
  • Use Microsoft Project and Excel to create and update project schedules.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for design and layout creation.
  • Experience in automated equipment and machine design.
  • Strong mechanical design and engineering skills.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations for static and dynamic analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting and leading meetings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products for documentation and project management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of full-time mechanical design/engineering experience in the field of work holding/fixturing, material handling, robotic cell automation, and/or special assembly machine/automation design.

Work Environment:

This role is based onsite at the Anna Engine Plant, offering a dynamic and collaborative environment where cutting-edge technology and equipment are utilized for innovative design and engineering projects.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Anna, OH.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
