Design Assurance Engineer

A leading aerospace facility located in Mirabel.

We are seeking a Design Assurance Engineer with a focus on software (80% DO-178) and hardware (20% DO-254) to join the Electronic Equipment Design Assurance (EEDA) team. This team is responsible for certification and compliance across a diverse portfolio of aerospace products.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preliminary and critical system design reviews
• Prepare or contribute to software and electronic hardware certification plans
• Evaluate supplier designs for software and electronic components (FPGA, ASIC, PLD)
• Conduct technical and process audits
• Perform safety-of-flight reviews
• Assess life cycle data for compliance with industry standards
• Lead resolution of safety, compliance, or technical issues with suppliers and stakeholders
• Prepare and review design compliance reports
• Support the evolution of EEDA best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with standards such as ARP-4754A, RTCA DO-178B/C, DO-248B/C, DO-254, DO-297, DO-326A/DO-356A/DO-355, DO-330, DO-200A, FAA AC 20-115D, AC 20-152A, Order 8110.49A, and 8110.105A
• Experience in development and testing of FPGA, ASIC, or PLD
• Proficiency in requirements capture tools (e.g., DOORS, JAMA)
• Experience working with airworthiness authorities or their representatives

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
