Design and Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Design and Manufacturing Engineer to join our innovative team. You will play a pivotal role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes and will work on both the design and manufacturing aspects of production.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models, 2D drawings, BOM, Gantt charts, and process sheets.
  • Evaluate engineering changes to product designs and implement tool design models and drawings as required.
  • Lead projects, set expectations, and provide support to toolmakers and CNC programmers to meet deadlines.
  • Support injection molding with fixtures, gages, tooling, and other support.
  • Create tooling and fixture designs to be used during production.
  • Utilize LEAN and Six Sigma tools to increase manufacturing efficiency for all processes.
  • Develop capability studies, use statistical analysis, and FMEA for sustainability of long-term process capabilities.
  • Implement continuous improvements with tools, equipment, and processes to reduce time and waste.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Design.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or Creo.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in tooling and fixture design.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering support and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of plastics and injection molding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD, with preference for Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Deep understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM), tooling technology, and assembly.
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects and problem-solving.
  • Process improvement experience and collaboration with the manufacturing floor.
  • Experience with injection molded plastics is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Royalton, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
