Customer Support Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a Customer Support Laboratory Technician to join our customer experience team for an 18-month maternity leave coverage. This role involves direct communication with the team lead and collaboration with another partner in a dynamic team of three. You will be supporting a laboratory team of 15-20 individuals as they navigate their busy season.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle calls and emails with a focus on generating and validating supply requests.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and navigate high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Collaborate with a team to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Manage multiple email inboxes, addressing approximately 300 emails per day.
  • Provide prompt and accurate customer support with quick turnaround times.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree is ideal but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, handling complaints and vendor requests.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple email inboxes and handling high-volume communication.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in various applications, Outlook, and TEAMS software.
  • Capability to work on-call during weekends.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a lab-specific customer service role is beneficial.
  • Possession of an ownership mentality and solution-oriented approach to customer interactions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse personalities and perspectives.
  • Commitment and stability in the role to ensure consistent performance without frequent retraining.

Work Environment:

This position is based in the Fort St. John office, reporting directly to the team lead. The role involves supporting a laboratory team of 15-20 members and collaborating with another individual in the team. Work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a rotating on-call weekend shift.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Fort St. John, British Columbia.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Workplace Type:

This is a fully onsite position in Fort St. John, BC.
