Develop designs and specifications for tooling, test equipment, and machinery.
Coordinate with vendors to produce tooling and associated hardware.
Integrate hardware into production and research/development cycles.
Work with customers and technical personnel to ensure production requirements are met.
Set up prototype equipment and use experimental materials to test designs.
Discuss project progress and findings in monthly technical review meetings.
Perform specialized programming, design, or analysis tasks under indirect supervision.
Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
Apply engineering experience to systems integration, configuration management, quality assurance, testing, and analysis.
Independently conduct high-level assessments and provide recommendations for tests conducted.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
10+ years of experience in mechanical design.
Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Catia, and MicroStation.
Knowledge of blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Strong skills in mathematics and advanced statistical analysis.
Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated and a great team worker.
Resume of completed projects in automotive and conveyance markets.
Experience integrating mechanical designs into production or test environments.
Basic experience working with controls engineers.
Relevant certifications, registrations, and licenses may be required.

The role requires 50% travel. You will work in a collaborative environment where creativity and problem-solving are valued. You will use advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD, SW, Inventor, or Catia. The work involves coordinating with various stakeholders and adhering to industry standards and regulations.
This is a Permanent position based out of Birmingham, Alabama.
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
