Controls Engineer Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated Controls Engineer Supervisor to oversee a team of technicians during the third shift (11pm-7am) at a manufacturing plant. This role involves troubleshooting automated systems, managing direct reports, and maintaining efficient operations. You will work with technologies such as Rockwell/Allen Bradley systems, Fanuc robots, slitter lines, laser cutters, presses, and overhead cranes. Strong skills in modifying and troubleshooting Ladder Logic, along with exceptional interpersonal and leadership abilities, are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in team meetings to address and resolve issues on the manufacturing floor.
• Direct workers engaged in various types of repairs and maintenance.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of company equipment and programs.
• Troubleshoot and program automated machine cells to ensure optimal performance.
• Engage in continuous improvement projects to enhance plant operations.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in Allen-Bradley and Rockwell systems.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PLC troubleshooting and programming.
• Experience in manufacturing and electrical troubleshooting.
• At least 1 year of proven leadership experience, validated through references.
• Ability to work every other weekend.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Exposure to IT systems, specifically Ignite.
• Project management experience.
• Supervision experience in a union environment.
• Knowledge of robotics, automation, and engineering management.

Work Environment:

The position is based in a world-class facility, known for its high-end automated equipment and vast growth opportunities. The facility, spanning 625,000 square feet, is clean and efficiently operated. Employees will work during second shift hours (3pm to 11pm), Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work every third weekend. The environment is conducive to long-term employment, with many managers having over 20 years of tenure at the company.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holt, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $40.86/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
