Controls Engineer
Join a leading manufacturer of automotive seats and interior components as an Assistant Chief Controls Engineer. This position is based in New Castle, IN, at a state-of-the-art facility that specializes in seat manufacturing and assembly. The facility is home to around 600 employees and offers a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain controls programs, hardware, and software.
- Independently lead software efforts for small development projects and initiatives.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and implement countermeasures for electrical issues.
- Ensure equipment compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Work as a collaborative team member on engineering projects.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements.
- Resolve defects and change requests to improve product quality and functionality.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience with control systems.
- Ability to write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Keyence).
- Experience with Keyence and/or Cognex vision systems.
- Proficient in troubleshooting, PLC programming, automation, and machine maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
- Experience with capital equipment, installation, and integration is beneficial.
Work Environment
The facility operates three shifts with a total of 597 employees, primarily focusing on automotive seat manufacturing using robotic welders. It is a clean, quiet, and climate-controlled environment. The position is first shift with core hours from 8am to 3pm, with flexibility to start as early as 6:30am. Occasional weekend work may be required for large projects. Uniforms are provided and paid for.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.87/hr.
