Controls Engineer

We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to design and develop sophisticated control systems, including PLC Logic, HMI interfaces, and electrical schematics. Responsibilities:

• Design and develop control systems, including PLC Logic, HMI interfaces, and electrical schematics.
• Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi) and HMIs for automation applications.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
• Select appropriate electrical components for control systems.
• Perform I/O checkouts, system validation, and commissioning at client sites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems, sensors, and network communications.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and system configurations.
• Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams.

Essential Skills:

• 4+ years of experience in controls engineering.
• Experience with PLCs such as Siemens, Omron, and Mitsubishi.
• Proficiency in HMI development.
• Ability to select components for control systems.
• Capability to write PLC programs from scratch.
• Robotics experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong troubleshooting skills in control systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and training.

Work Environment:

This role is primarily office-based, with approximately 10-15% travel to client sites within a 300-mile radius. Most travel will be day trips, with occasional overnight stays required. The office is located in West Chester and houses a team of approximately 35 professionals.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Chester, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
