Controls Engineer

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will conduct comprehensive analyses of system requirements, specifications, and performance objectives. You will design control systems and develop algorithms based on these requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define system architectures and integration strategies. You will implement control strategies using appropriate programming languages and tools, and configure control hardware such as sensors, actuators, and PLCs. The role involves creating and modifying control system schematics, integrating systems with hardware and software components, and performing system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure functionality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of system requirements, specifications, and performance objectives.
  • Design control systems and develop control algorithms based on identified requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architectures and integration strategies.
  • Develop and implement control strategies using appropriate programming languages and tools.
  • Design and configure control hardware, including sensors, actuators, and PLCs.
  • Create and modify control system schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
  • Integrate control systems with existing or new hardware and software components.
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure proper functionality.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop and execute test plans and procedures.
  • Conduct performance analysis and optimization of control systems to enhance efficiency, stability, and reliability.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to system performance, response time, and accuracy.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to monitor system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and user manuals.
  • Create reports and presentations to communicate project status, results, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in PLC programming and process control systems.
  • Experience with HMI programming.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Experience with industrial control systems (PLCs, DCS, SCADA) and associated software.

Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Neptune, NJ.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Inflexionpoint - medical dental, vision. Time Away from Work: Paid Time Off (PTO) is an all-purpose time off policy for eligible employees to use for vacation, illness, injury, or personal business. PTO combines traditional vacation and sick leave plans into one flexible, inclusive policy. PTO is payable in the same manner as the regular base salary rate and is subject to the same withholding elections. It does not include overtime or any special forms of compensation such as incentives, commissions, bonuses, or shift differential. PTO-eligible employees can carry over accrued but unused PTO from one year to the next. However, only 80 hours of the previous years carryover will be available for use after March 31st; the remainder of unused PTO will be forfeited. Employees in the following employment classification(s) are eligible to earn and use PTO as described in this policy: I. Regular, full-time employees will begin to accrue PTO from their date of hire in accordance with the schedule set forth below: Service Period - Up to 60 months, 2.31 hours weekly accrual rate for up to 3 weeks (120 hours annually) Service Period - Months 61 to 120, 3.08 hours weekly accrual rate for up to 4 weeks (160 hours annually) Service Period - Months 121 to 240, 3.85 hours weekly accrual rate for up to 5 weeks (200 hours) annually Service Period - Months 241+, 4.62 hours weekly accrual rate for up to 6 weeks (240 hours) annually II. Regular, part-time employees (less than 40 hours weekly) will accrue PTO from their date of hire based on the hours they work each week at a rate of 0.0575/hour. For example: Workweek - 8 hours, 0.46-hour weekly accrual for 3 days (24 hours) annually Workweek - 16 hours, 0.92-hour weekly accrual for 6 days (48 hours) annually Workweek - 24 hours, 1.38-hour weekly accrual for 9 days (72 hours) annually Workweek - 32 hours, 1.84-hour weekly accrual for 12 days (96 hours) annually III. Temporary/Seasonal Employees Temporary and/or seasonal employees (including Interns), full- and part-time, will earn 1 hour for every thirty (30) hours worked in a calendar year, up to a maximum of 40 hours.
