Controls Engineer

As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing customer machinery orders and specifications, designing controls, programming, and providing support through prototyping and build phases. You may also provide field support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Apply electrical knowledge to develop schematic and panel drawings, BOMs, and machine logic.
• Implement product changes and enhancements for in-house equipment design and development.
• Solve electrical problems from component through system level.
• Provide design and technical support for sales, procurement, manufacturing, and aftermarket service teams.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites to conduct problem solving for technical equipment and system integration issues (less than 10%).

Essential Skills

• PLC Programming with expertise in ladder logic (the person or Siemens).
• 3-5 years of experience in designing and/or troubleshooting electrical controls for industrial equipment.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited university.
• Strong hands-on skills with machinery for troubleshooting and debugging.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Controls engineering and electrical engineering experience

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily office-based, located in Jeffersontown, with occasional visits to customer sites. This company builds machinery for various industries, focusing on packaging machinery, and holds over 50% market share in this space. The company is privately held, has been in operation for 45 years, and employs approximately 500 people globally. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of LOUISVILLE, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr. They have a company profit bonus program (up to 8% annually) and offer tons of growth opportunity. 401K match after 12 months, 4.5% on 6 % contribution.
