Controls Engineer

Join a dynamic team in Columbus, IN as a Controls Engineer with a focus on manufacturing motor vehicle parts and accessories, primarily aluminum alloy wheels. This role involves optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing product quality, and driving innovation in aluminum wheel production.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and oversee the installation of machines and processes.
• Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
• Build, program, or purchase necessary components for production.
• Plan project details and communicate with other departments to ensure success.
• Support control systems plant-wide for new equipment.

Essential Skills

• Associate's Degree in engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CAD design, including plant layout and custom machine design.
• Familiarity with Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Allen Bradley systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Cognex and Keyence Vision Systems.

Work Environment

Work in a foundry environment which can be warm, with a clean Paint Process area. Enjoy a 1st shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with minimal overtime. Benefit from a secure and stable work environment, where employees are valued and there has been only one layoff in the past 35 years.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.
