Construction Project Engineer

This role offers a balance of 50% national travel retail work and 50% local GC/subcontractor projects. Responsibilities

• Attend and document OAC meetings.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and superintendents.
• Manage RFIs and submittals.
• Assist with purchase orders and material procurement.
• Set up vendors and job sites.
• Upload and manage documents across various construction software platforms.
• Liaise between field and office teams.
• Support project setup and closeout processes.

Essential Skills

• 1–2 years of construction experience with General Contractor, Construction Manager, or Sub Contractor.
• Familiarity with construction terminology such as RFIs and submittals.
• Strong document control and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with construction management software like Procore and Autodesk.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Teachable, adaptable, and proactive mindset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Experience in retail construction, tenant improvements, or refresh/renovation projects.
• Background with subcontractor or self-perform groups.
• Desire and flexibility to travel more if opportunities arise.
• Familiarity with multiple construction platforms and systems.

Work Environment

This position requires working in the Columbus, IN office five days a week initially, with potential flexibility to work from the Downtown Indianapolis office once trust is built. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
