Compliance Engineer

As we want to bring a significant number of products or product variants to market as fast as possible, we need someone who has experience and is skilled in the process of UL certification. This person would be able to utilize the processes already used with UL but then help speed up the open projects and complete them as fast as possible. Our ideal candidate has strong experience in the product certification process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead internal projects to establish and maintain compliance with new or changed product standards.
  • Work with the New Product Introduction process as both a lead Compliance Engineer and a Subject Matter Expert to ensure new products meet product regulations and certification requirements.
  • Ensure completion of product compliance deliverables for products critical to the organization, including compliance assessment, design review, certification and test plan creation, documentation, and process implementation for new product development introductions.
  • Collaborate with sourcing and suppliers to ensure the supply chain is responsive to product compliance requirements, acting as an interface with domestic and third-party certification agencies such as UL, CSA, TUV, and Intertek.
  • Plan and schedule projects of significant and strategic importance to the corporation, including RoHS and REACH compliance.
  • Work with management to assess risk and strategy for ensuring product compliance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related technical field with knowledge in engineering and manufacturing principles, theories, and techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Manufacturing/Development Engineering Organization, preferably in electronics or electrical equipment manufacturing.
  • Experience with environmental regulations, product standards, certifications, and conformance agencies.
  • Knowledge of UL1741, UL508, UL61800-5-1 standards.
  • Experience in project management techniques.
  • Ability to work on projects from conception to production release.
  • Experience with product stewardship, environmental regulations, product standards, certifications, conformance agencies, or functional safety engineering is desired.

This is a Permanent position based out of Franksville, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
