CMT / Inspector / Field Engineer

We are seeking both experienced and entry-level CMT professionals, Special Inspectors, and Geotechnical Inspectors for various projects in the Raleigh-Durham area. Opportunities are available for Tech II and Tech III positions, as well as entry-level roles for individuals interested in the field.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing, analysis, and quality control of materials.
• Perform grain size analysis, Atterberg Limit testing, moisture-density testing, ASTM and NCDOT hydrometers, and laboratory resistivity testing for soils.
• Execute aggregate grain size analysis, specific gravity of fine and coarse aggregates, and dry rodded unit weight tests for aggregates.
• Conduct compressive and flexural strength testing of concrete cylinders, beams, and cubes, and produce laboratory trial mixes for Portland Cement Concrete.
• Sample and test fresh unit weight, air content, and make samples while observing batch plant operations.
• Perform burn and gradation analysis, maximum theoretical testing (Rice), and specific gravity testing for Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).
• Execute absorption and compressive strength testing on masonry blocks.

• ACI
• Construction Materials Technician
• Soils & Concrete Testing
• Masonry Testing

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 2-3+ years of experience preferred
• No certifications required, but ACI certification is preferred
• ICC, I.C.C., and Nicet certifications are advantageous

Work Environment:

The role involves working in both field and laboratory settings. It requires performing basic and routine field and laboratory tests, assisting with complex tasks, and working under the guidance of other technicians or staff professionals.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winterville, NC.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
