CMT / Inspector / Field Engineer

We are seeking both experienced and entry-level CMT professionals, Special Inspectors, and Geotechnical Inspectors for various projects in the Raleigh-Durham area. Opportunities exist for Tech II and Tech III levels, as well as for individuals new to the field who are interested in pursuing a career in this profession.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing, analysis, and quality control of materials.
• Perform grain size analysis, Atterberg Limit testing, moisture-density testing, ASTM and NCDOT Hydrometers, and laboratory resistivity testing for soils.
• Conduct aggregate grain size analysis, specific gravity of fine and coarse aggregates, and dry rodded unit weight tests.
• Carry out compressive and flexural strength testing of concrete cylinders, beams, and cubes, and produce laboratory trial batches for Portland Cement Concrete.
• Sample and test fresh concrete for unit weight, air content, and observe batch plant operations.
• Perform burn and gradation analysis, maximum theoretical testing (Rice), and specific gravity testing for Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).
• Conduct absorption and compressive strength testing on masonry blocks.

• 2-3+ years of experience preferred
• ACI certification preferred
• Familiarity with ACI, ICC, Nicet certifications

Work Environment

The role involves working both in the field and in a laboratory setting. The environment is dynamic and requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
