Actalent is hiring someone who can help draft reports on the feasibility of construction engineering projects! This project focuses on evaluating an existing land parcel for the development of a secure, compliant explosives storage facility. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical design and regulatory rigor, ensuring that every square meter of the site meets stringent safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive topographic and geotechnical assessments of the existing land to determine suitability for high-security storage.
• Interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations regarding explosive materials, including quantity-distance requirements and blast radius modeling.
• Develop preliminary site grading and drainage plans to prevent erosion and manage runoff around storage bunkers.
• Assist in the design and placement of magazines or reinforced storage structures, ensuring appropriate barricading and separation.
• Map potential impact zones and propose protective infrastructure, such as earthen berms or blast walls, to protect surrounding areas.
• Compile data into a comprehensive feasibility report, including CAD drawings and environmental impact summaries.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Technical Writing.
• Proficiency in technical reporting, including structured feasibility reports with CAD drawings and environmental impact studies.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical Statements of Work (SOWs), specifications, and technical requirements from governing bodies in report writing.

Work Environment

The role offers a hybrid work environment, primarily onsite in Prescott.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Prescott, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $38.00/hr.
