Civil Engineer (Transportation)

Work under the supervision of a Transportation Project Manager on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects. This role also involves supporting utility, school, commercial, residential, renewable energy, and other site/land development design projects as needed. A strong desire to work on a variety of projects and a high level of curiosity are key attributes for this role.

Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for projects. Perform calculations and create reports for various disciplines and phases of transportation projects, including horizontal and vertical profiles, cross sections, signing and striping plans, stormwater drainage and pipe sizing, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, grading, erosion control, and permitting. Work directly with clients, contractors, industry partners, and jurisdictions. Manage construction administration duties including site visits, construction coordination meetings, and inspections.

Registered Civil Engineer in the State of Oregon or ability to obtain within six months. 8+ years of experience in planning, design, and/or construction supervision of public works, commercial, transportation, or storm water management. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Strong technical capabilities, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability. Ability to work on large projects with a team and engage directly with clients. Capability to work independently for extended periods with limited supervision. Experience with Vehicle Tracking, ArcGIS, MS Project, and Bluebeam. Experience with OpenRoads. Understanding of design standards for various jurisdictions and agencies in the Portland metro area, including ODOT. Experience with implementing Low Impact Development (LID) features on public and private projects. Additional licensure in Washington preferred.

The position is based in an office environment, operating from 8 am to 5 pm with an hour for lunch. A laptop and cell phone stipend are provided. The role involves working under a Transportation Project Manager and includes mentoring three engineers. The office features a gym and an outdoor working area, fostering a strong focus on company culture with various outings such as game nights, karaoke, and ski nights.

This is a contract position based out of Beaverton, OR. The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
