Civil Engineer EIT

This entry-level role is based in Raleigh, NC, and offers the opportunity to work on impactful transportation improvement projects such as interstate/interchanges, roadway widening, bridge replacements, and new location projects. Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze project data to inform design decisions.
  • Lead or assist in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents.
  • Calculate quantities and develop cost estimates for projects.
  • Produce comprehensive plan sets and work with other design disciplines.
  • Utilize excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in land development, civil engineering, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, EIT certification, and civil design.
  • Strong capabilities in site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and site planning.
  • Effective project management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in civil engineering.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling, and OpenRoads Designer.
  • Knowledge of NCDOT roadway design guidelines, standards, and specifications is a plus.
  • Prior internships with civil engineering firms are advantageous.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
