Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze project data to support transportation improvement projects.
• Lead or assist in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents.
• Calculate quantities and develop cost estimates for various projects.
• Produce comprehensive plan sets for transportation projects.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Utilize excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address project challenges.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to coordinate with team members and stakeholders.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Understanding of site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and site plan design.
• Holds an EIT certification and has a background in civil design.
• Experience or knowledge in land development and project management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 0 - 2 years of experience in civil engineering.
• Previous internships with civil engineering firms are advantageous.
• Familiarity with MicroStation, GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling, and OpenRoads Designer.
• Knowledge of roadway design guidelines, standards, and specifications, particularly NCDOT, is beneficial.
• Experience in NCDOT highway design is a plus.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
