Civil Engineer

A multidisciplinary civil engineering firm in Tigard is seeking a civil engineer with an EIT or PE certification, experienced in civil land development. The candidate will engage in various tasks including storm water calculations and reports, road grading, corridors, lot grading, pipe networks, site visits, erosion control plans, grading, and utility plans. Projects range across commercial, retail, industrial, K-12, higher education, and municipal infill projects on lot sizes between 5,000 square feet to 5 acres. Familiarity with BES, CWS, WES, or Stormwater Bureau codes is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform storm water calculations and generate detailed reports.
  • Conduct road grading and develop corridors and lot grading plans.
  • Design and implement pipe networks and utility plans using Civil 3D or HydroCAD.
  • Undertake site visits to assess and guide project progress.
  • Create and execute erosion control plans.
  • Work on grading for commercial, retail, industrial, K-12, higher education, and municipal infill projects.

Essential skills include:

  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and HydroCAD.
  • Experience in civil land development engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform storm water calculations and reports.
  • Knowledge of road grading, lot grading, and utility planning.
  • EIT or PE certification is required.
  • Civil engineering degree is required.

Additional skills and qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with BES, CWS, WES, or Stormwater Bureau codes.
  • Progress towards obtaining PE is preferred.

The office is located in the suburbs with a medium-sized team that fosters a 'family feel'. The leadership is open and caring, promoting a friendly and laid-back culture. The civil engineering department is established and growing, offering significant opportunities for professional growth. Work hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, with flexibility to start or end an hour earlier or later. There is an option for enhanced flexibility to accommodate family responsibilities when needed. The team currently consists of 4 people, with plans to expand to 8-10 in the next five years. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon. The pay range for this position is $90,000.00 - $120,000.00/hr.
