Job Opportunity: Civil Engineer

We're looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to join our collaborative, woman-owned engineering firm. In this role, you'll take projects from early concept through construction, working on a diverse portfolio of land development, residential, and site civil design projects throughout New York State and New York City.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support civil site design projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare comprehensive design plans, including:
• Site layout and grading
• Drainage and utility systems
• Stormwater management systems
• Erosion and sediment control
• Perform stormwater management analysis and design, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, in compliance with NYSDEC and NYCDEP standards.
• Develop erosion and sediment control plans, prepare permit applications, and coordinate with local and state regulatory agencies.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits and field assessments, collaborating closely with contractors, architects, and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with engineering reports, technical analyses, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Ensure all designs comply with New York State and NYC codes, regulations, and permitting requirements.

What You Bring

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in land development and site civil design.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Hands-on experience with stormwater management, grading, drainage design, and erosion & sediment control design and permitting.
• Working knowledge of NY State and NYC regulations and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on projects in both New York State and New York City.

Work Environment

• Office hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holtsville, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $68.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
