Civil Project Engineer

An engineering consulting firm in Spokane, WA is seeking to add a Civil Project Engineer to its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work on grading, drainage, utilities, and road projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and gain hands-on experience while growing their skills in a supportive and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform site development design including grading, drainage, sewer, water, erosion control, and road design (including profile layouts).
• Collaborate with engineering and drafting teams to coordinate design details and construction document requirements.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
• Attend design meetings as directed by the Project Manager.
• Review submittals, prepare technical reports, perform routine conveyance calculations, and write observation reports.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of civil engineering experience.
• Licensed Engineer in Training (EIT).
• Experience with grading, stormwater management, and utility design.
• Familiarity with stormwater modeling and technical information reports.
• Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills with clients and project teams.
• Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and site development.
• Ability to provide excellent service and build strong client relationships.

Work Environment

This position requires working in the office five days a week. The team is expanding to include survey services in-house and potentially landing a large parks project. Current projects include higher education, K-12, some roadway, but primarily land development for buildings.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
