Design Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented BAS Design Engineer to support Building Management System (BMS) projects. This role is ideal for junior to mid-level engineers with a strong focus on hardware design and documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing engineered submittals, drawings, bills of material, and as-built documentation, while supporting project managers to ensure timely and accurate project delivery. This position emphasizes design and documentation over software programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop engineered submittals, technical drawings, bills of material, and as-built documentation for BMS projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet specifications.
• Focus on hardware and design aspects of BMS systems, including HVAC and electrical distribution components.
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from design to commissioning.
• Ensure documentation packages are complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.

Required Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in controls, mechanical, or electrical engineering/design.
• Familiarity with building automation systems and HVAC systems.
• Understanding of electrical distribution systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, or similar design tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation workflows.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in controls engineering within the building management or automation sector.
• Ability to manage small-scale projects and commission new equipment.
• Knowledge of setting up points, graphics, and historical data for BMS systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in building automation.

The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $52.88/hr.
