BIM Coordinator Engineer

The BIM Coordination Engineer will model and coordinate BIM for projects utilizing specific products, as well as design recommendations for new products via trend analysis. The BIM engineer will collaborate with the engineering team and external customers to clarify design requirements, develop product solutions to fit design needs, and effectively communicate the overall scope of work to customer representatives.

Responsibilities:

• Verify that information entered into the BIM is accurate and correct.
• Create and maintain the project's overall BIM execution plan, ensuring it is up to date throughout the project's duration.
• Communicate clashes and design changes to the engineering team.
• Verify that exported data from the BIM is accurate and complete.
• Ensure that BIM model parameters comply with the building execution plan.
• Configure 3D models using BIM-specific modeling programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
• Create element groups or internal element libraries within the project.
• Participate in meetings with project teams to ensure everyone understands the BIM process.
• Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders as a BIM expert.
• Organize agendas for regular coordination meetings and updates.

Essential Skills:

• 4-year degree in the Engineering field with at least 2 years of experience required.
• Zero to three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in reading construction documents and estimating preferred.
• General knowledge of server technology and associated hardware required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Teams).
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks/Onshape is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing, Revit, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Office, and 3D Modeling.
• Familiarity with Onshape and construction documents.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
