Automation Technician 2
This role supports the setup, testing, and programming of automated systems that manage building operations such as heating, cooling, and ventilation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the startup and configuration of microprocessor-based control systems, including digital controllers, sensors, actuators, and related components.
- Conduct point-to-point wiring checks to verify proper grounding, polarity, communication, and power delivery.
- Calibrate input and output devices such as temperature sensors and pressure transducers to ensure accurate readings.
- Upload, download, and modify control software to align with system requirements.
- Perform basic networking tasks including IP address setup, subnet mask configuration, and device identification for BACnet systems.
- Create and troubleshoot BACnet and Modbus communication networks.
- Diagnose issues in HVAC and electrical systems and support resolution efforts.
- Map control points into supervisory controllers and configure alarms and data logging features.
- Link control points to graphical interfaces and dashboards for system monitoring.
- Develop visual graphics and dashboards for automation systems.
- Coordinate with construction teams to align with project schedules and maintain quality assurance and commissioning documentation.
- Interpret HVAC operational sequences and translate them into digital control logic.
- Provide guidance and training to junior technicians and oversee their work as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Associates in Electronic, Technology or Automation related field
- 3+ years of automation related field and engineering experience
- Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Ethernet and serial network communication formats and hardware configurations
- Understanding of basic process controls (i.e. PID control loops, motor control, commissioning of digital and analog measurement devices)
- Knowledge of construction site safety and a high awareness of surroundings

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00/yr.
