Engineering Technician
This position involves performing basic maintenance, operation, and repair of manufacturing, laboratory, research, and development equipment. The role focuses on improving equipment efficiency, minimizing downtime, and enhancing internal administrative processes. The technician will conduct preventative maintenance and assist with integrating new equipment and executing equipment validations such as FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ.
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic mechanical and operational troubleshooting.
- Repair assembly-related issues and implement innovative solutions.
- Work with hazardous materials as required.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain procedures and records in accordance with company standards.
- Provide management with necessary information and reports.
- Offer technical support for complex equipment projects.
- Implement improvements to equipment, processes, and procedures.
- Assist with equipment validations, including executing protocols.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Quality Management System as per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
- Exhibit professional behavior with internal and external business associates.
- Solve basic to moderate mechanical issues and make sound decisions regarding production and facilities equipment.
- Be available for any shift and on-call via pager or cell phone.
Essential Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or technical degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, PLCs, machining, and welding.
- Knowledge of QSR/ISO 9001 is preferred.
- Understanding and application of safety procedures.
- Strong communication, cooperation, and interpersonal skills.
- Documentation skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Basic computer skills including file management, MS Word, and preventative maintenance software.
- 2-4 years' experience in a GMP environment.
- Experience with hand and power tools and associated safety procedures.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Entry-level knowledge of automation controls such as PLCs, servo motors and drives, and vision systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working in a GMP/ISO 9000 manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of federal regulations and other regulatory requirements.
Work Environment:
Work on the 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 10:30 PM. The role may require wearing appropriate safety attire and working with various technologies and equipment.
Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, California.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
