The Global Services Legal team is seeking to appoint counsel to act as Services Counsel. In-house, public sector and private practice candidates will all be considered, but experience of working with international teams in a global business and a passion for supporting innovative technology and taking products and services to market are pre-requisites.

The Global Services Legal team is a strategic partner and product counsel while functioning as the integrator between various other parts of the Legal team, coordinating between the multidisciplinary areas of deep expertise across the wider Legal team, to deliver one holistic Legal perspective to the business.

Assets & Solutions Enablement Counsel Specialist – Global Services Legal

Key Responsibilities

The role includes understanding and supporting the business strategy across Offerings, working to help manage and mitigate risks, comply with laws and company policies, and undertake ethical considerations in its endeavors. The successful candidate will be adept at finding new and effective ways to communicate with business clients, and across legal teams. Key responsibilities of the Services Counsel include:

  • Review global software products and provide practical legal risk analyses, mitigation strategies, and enable those products to go to market in a legally compliant and strategic manner.
  • Work with Business teams to evaluate the technology related to Business offerings including reviewing inbound technology and data supply templates/agreements and outbound or internal client facing templates in different geographies, industries and regulatory environments.
  • Develop clear communication messages, guidance, templates and trainings regarding the technology/data components of offerings and services for sales and go to market teams, offering development teams, technical teams and the rest of the Legal organization on how to bring software products to market in a legally compliant and strategic manner.
  • Draft client facing terms to enable the incorporation of Accenture´s and/or 3P tools into client-facing solutions.
  • Analyze, review and provide input on other types of legal requests, such as independently review complex alliance and vendor technology transaction agreements, non-Open- Source Software (OSS) licenses reviews, etc.
  • Perform research of laws and regulations or technical aspects applicable to assigned requests, consulting as necessary.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience at law firm or as in-house counsel and/or in legal outsourcing

Professional Skills/ You are/ You will:

  • Fluency in English with strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Technology transactional experience either in drafting and negotiating technology focused client-facing and/or vendor-facing agreements (i.e. data licensing, software as a service agreements, cloud, software license agreements, or software development agreements).
  • Working knowledge of: (a) data and security privacy issues; (b) IP law; (c) OSS licensing; and (d) general product development considerations. Understanding connection between in-bound agreements and client-facing agreements.
  • Good experience in generic/legal research and reporting, including due diligence.
  • Able to work with internal and external teams to assist with day-to-day support and to understand delivery requirements
  • Basic understanding of Accenture offerings and function specific services performed
  • Good understanding of commercial agreements, legal and compliance principles
  • Understand general basic corporate business practices and contracting regulations
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Comfortable with technology and has experience in the use of tools & databases.
