Application Support Engineer

Act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Must have skills: Microsoft SQL Server Administration. Minimum 3 years of experience is required. Educational Qualification: 15 years full time education.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Install/Configure/Setup/Administer and Maintain production and non-production environments.
• Setup High-Availability and Disaster Recovery.
• Plan and test high availability and disaster recovery.
• Create Users and assign/manage permissions based on the level of access the user would need.
• Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and replication issues.
• Detect and resolve database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other contention issues.
• Perform and manage Database backup/recovery/restore and capacity monitoring.
• Setup SQL agent jobs, elastic jobs, and runbook automation.
• Identify and set up alerts and logging in Azure.
• Maintain databases – Statistics, Indexes, fragmentation.
• Upgrade and maintain SQL Server and related software (apply patches and updates when necessary).
• Coordinate removal and/or archiving of data that is no longer required to be available in the production databases.
• Support production deployment activities.
• Provide 24x7 support, as necessary.
• Conduct Performance tuning and optimization.

Professional & Technical Skills:

• Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Administration.
• Strong understanding of database management and optimization techniques.
• Experience with backup and recovery strategies for SQL Server databases.
• Familiarity with performance tuning and monitoring tools.
• Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
