Application Support Engineer

Act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems.

Must have skills: SUSE Linux Administration. Good to have skills: Microsoft Azure IaaS Minimum 2 year(s) of experience is required. Educational Qualification: 15 years full time education.

Summary: We are looking for a Linux System Administrator with approximately 2 years of hands-on experience in managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Linux-based environments. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Linux fundamentals, shell scripting, system monitoring, and basic networking concepts.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine system administration tasks including user management, file system management, and permissions handling.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, disk usage, and network connectivity.
• Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations.
• Manage services such as Apache/Nginx, SSH, DNS, FTP, and cron jobs.
• Write and maintain Bash scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Configure and manage system logs using tools like journalctl, rsyslog, or logrotate.
• Support deployment and version-control workflows (Git preferred).
• Assist in backup and recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and system upgrades.
• Ensure system security through proper hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Ensure the server is properly registered with SUMA and can successfully refresh its repositories.

Professional & Technical Skills

• Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in SUSE Linux Administration.
• Good To Have Skills: Experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS.
• Strong understanding of system performance monitoring and optimization.
• Experience with scripting languages for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with incident management and ticketing systems.

The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience in SUSE Linux Administration. This position is based at our Bengaluru office. A 15 years full time education is required.
