Application Support Engineer

Act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Minimum 3 year(s) of experience is required. Educational Qualification: 15 years full time education.

As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by actively monitoring and investigating issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behavior, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous engagement with system performance and collaborating with different teams to maintain service reliability and efficiency throughout the day.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • JIRA Administration & Configuration
    • Configure and maintain JIRA projects, workflows, schemes, and permissions
    • Customize fields, screens, dashboards, and reports
    • Manage user roles, groups, and access controls
    • Ensure system performance, availability, and data integrity
  • Workflow & Process Management
    • Design and implement workflows aligned with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) processes
    • Analyze business requirements and translate them into JIRA configurations
    • Optimize processes for better efficiency and tracking
  • User Support & Training
    • Provide day-to-day support for JIRA users
    • Conduct training sessions and create user documentation
    • Troubleshoot issues and resolve system-related problems
  • Integration & Plugins Management
    • Install, configure, and manage JIRA plugins/add-ons
    • Integrate JIRA with tools like Confluence, Bitbucket, or other systems
    • Evaluate new plugins and manage licensing
  • Reporting & Dashboarding
    • Create dashboards, filters, and reports for stakeholders
    • Generate insights on project progress and team performance
  • System Maintenance & Upgrades
    • Monitor system performance and logs
    • Perform upgrades, backups, and migrations
    • Ensure security compliance and best practices

Professional & Technical Skills

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of JIRA administration and configuration. Understanding of workflows, permission schemes, and screen schemes. Experience with JIRA plugins and integrations. Knowledge of JIRA REST APIs and automation. Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban). Basic knowledge of SQL, scripting, or web technologies (optional).

Soft Skills: Problem-solving and analytical thinking. Strong communication and stakeholder management. Attention to detail and organization. Ability to work independently and in teams.

This position is based at our Bengaluru office. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. 3–5+ years of experience in JIRA/Atlassian tools administration. Certifications like Atlassian Certified JIRA Administrator (preferred).
