Cabin Services Steps Driver Day

Location: London Heathrow Airport

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 4 on 2 off, Early start is 0500 and late finish is 23.00 mixed shifts

Pay Rate: £14.35 per hour

ABM is already the largest provider of widebody Secure Clean services at Heathrow, and we have opportunities to grow our 500 strong team to meet the needs of our newest customer. We are recruiting in a wide variety of roles including – Operations Managers, Duty Managers, Quality Managers, Team Leaders, Allocators, Hi Lift Drivers, Toilet and Water Drivers, Minibus Drivers, Steps Drivers and Secure Clean Operatives with opportunities on both days and nights. Role Overview And Purpose

As Steps Driver Days, you will be part of the cleaning team who clean and dress the aircraft as well as being responsible for driving of step vehicles and positioning onto the aircrafts around Heathrow Airport. You will ensure that you adhere to all Heathrow Airport and ABM safe practices with safety always being the number one priority. The ability to work well within a team and flexibility to work various shift patterns is also essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate aircraft steps to allow products to be embarked and disembarked

• Safely position step onto the aircraft.

• Carry out vehicle safety checks and report any issues

• Accurately complete and return secure clean and vehicle defect documentation.

• Collaboratively work with allocations team, effectively communicating aircraft arrival time, delays and secure cleaning turnaround times.

• Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle is maintained

• Provide excellent customer service to passengers, assisting them as required

• Adhere to airline and airport policies and procedures

• Maintain a safe working environment at all times

• Responsible for signing in and out equipment

• Clean a range of aircraft internally including vacuuming carpets, wiping down equipment and surfaces, clean all seats, seatback pockets, tray tables and replace damaged magazines

• Security checking of the aircraft in line with the Covert Testing Procedures

• Cleaning and restocking aircraft consumables

• Fold blankets, store blankets and pillows in overhead compartments

• Remove rubbish from the aircraft and make sure that it is properly disposed of

• Work as part of a team and ensure that you have good knowledge of all areas of the operation and aircraft

• Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner while complying with the company's expectations, rules and procedures

• Assuring the proper handling of hazardous materials, correct use of uniform, safety vest, earplugs, and safety behaviour actions inside and outside the aircraft

• Be professional in appearance and manners towards co-workers, clients and any other person within the airport and work location

• Exceed Prime Flight customer service and safety standards

• Carry out other duties as assigned

Health & Safety Responsibilities

• Always follow Group and company policies and procedures.

• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.

• Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.

• Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.

Required Skills And Experience

• Previous experience as a driver, preferably with passenger transport

• Desirable previous experiences as a driving steps and positioning onto aircrafts

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks

• Strong attention to detail and vehicle maintenance knowledge

• Ability to work well in a team and independently

• Flexible availability to work various shift patterns

• Valid UK driving license

• A general understanding of H&S legislation

• Computer literate
