Sr. Software Development Engineer – Produktneuentwicklung

The Abbott Automation Solutions GmbH is currently looking for a (Sr.) Software Development Engineer – Produktneuentwicklung at the location in Hamburg where highly modular laboratory automation solutions are developed.

The modular automation solution includes a single sample transport that allows the dynamic connection of analysis devices as well as sample preparation and archiving in laboratories of almost all sizes.

Your tasks:

• Design the firmware development in C/ C++ for microcontrollers in the product development area of laboratory automation. These are a modular, networked, platform-based system
• Develop solutions for the implementation of software development methodology and toolchain and support the fulfillment of the software lifecycle process
• Be part of over-regional and cross-functional teams
• Enjoy steadily improving the quality of laboratory automation
• Collaborate in over-regional teams

Your profile:

• You have a university/college degree in medical technology, electrical engineering, computer science, technical mathematics or similar qualification, ideally already 5+ years of professional experience in e.g. agile software development
• You have detailed programming skills in Embedded C and C++
• You have the willingness to intensively work in the following areas:
• Unit tests
• Programming of motor and robot controls
• Continuous integration
• Knowledge of embedded real-time operating systems
• UML knowledge
• Experience with norm-compliant development in medical technology (possibly knowledge of DIN EN 62304 and EN ISO 13485) in a regulated environment with a high level of quality awareness and process understanding
• You enjoy working independently, in a self-responsible and structured manner, are communicative in the team and (self-)critical in reviews and cross-functional discussions
• You can understand and analyze complex systems and their interconnections.
• Desirable experience with the following development tools: Jira, GIT, MCUxpresso, CLion, CUnit, CppUnit, googleTest
• Very good German and English skills allow you to work with our over-regional teams and round off your profile.
