The Position
The position will be based at our Cologne location (Abbott Rapid Diagnostics GmbH) in the Infectious Diseases department and will be responsible for the Frankfurt/Mainz region.
Our point-of-care diagnostic portfolio includes important health and therapy areas, including infectious diseases, cardiometabolic, informatics, and toxicology. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information obtained from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in decision-making in patient care for hundreds of health conditions, from heart attacks to blood diseases and infectious diseases to cancer.
Our rapid diagnostic solutions help address some of the world's biggest challenges in healthcare.
Your Tasks
- Responsibility for sales targets and commercial planning for achieving performance goals
- Market and customer development (especially new customers) and general customer support in various areas of responsibility
- Responsibility for the development and implementation of the Abbott RDx ID product portfolio within the department
- Quotation creation for customers and contract closing
- Monitoring and reporting on competitive activities
- Conducting product training and implementations in the region
- Participation in conferences, exhibitions, etc. at the national and international level is expected
Required Qualifications
- Degree in BA or natural sciences, alternatively a medical education or equivalent professional experience in the field of diagnostics
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Strong persuasiveness and ability to build sustainable interpersonal relationships
- Results-oriented, structured, and resilient
- Advanced problem-solving skills and customer orientation
- Team player with a high level of initiative, energy, and enthusiasm
- Excellent organizational, moderation, and presentation skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Travel readiness (70-80%)
- Fluent German and very good English proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in sales in the medical device industry, pharmaceutical industry, or a similar environment
- Detailed understanding of the secondary care market
- Proactiveness, flexibility, and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to achieve impactful results
- Flexible self-starter with the ability to work resiliently in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to articulate problems and business opportunities with relevant customers to secure long-term strategic business with customers of national importance
