Field Service Engineer

The Field Service Engineer in our Abbott Diagnostics division is responsible for the installation, uninstallation, preventive and corrective maintenance of Abbott Diagnostics equipment and products in accordance with the guidelines set by the company. They also sell maintenance contracts and harmonize activities on the instruments under their responsibility.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the maintenance of diagnostic instruments sold or made available in private and hospital laboratories within a specific geographical area.
  • Perform these operations within the rules and protocols established by Abbott and apply technical and administrative procedures.
  • Explain and promote their interventions to laboratory technicians and managers.
  • Intervene with clients when a problem cannot be resolved by phone.
  • May be asked to advise on the interpretation of results in relation to Abbott's provided tools.
  • Adapt and implement necessary solutions to resolve unusual problems while respecting safety rules and informing their hierarchy.
  • Remove old devices and install new ones for clients.

Profile:

  • BAC+2 in Biology or Electronics with at least one year of experience in instrument maintenance.
  • Practical knowledge of the healthcare and diagnostic industries.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Competence in managing a client portfolio.
  • Ability to identify and successfully resolve problems.
  • Good command of English.
