This position reports to:
R&D Local Unit Lead
Your Role and Responsibilities
You will play a crucial role in identifying, designing, testing, and troubleshooting of new and existing power solution, selecting components and engaging suppliers for technical requirements and feasibility, and closely collaborating with other members of R&D team in a global and cross functional environment.
In this role, you'll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:
- Develop and simulate power electronic systems, including gate drivers and circuit breakers, using electrical models of power semiconductors.
- Select components, engage suppliers, and support cooling system design by estimating losses and efficiency
- Build test assemblies, perform hands-on testing, troubleshoot issues, and optimize solutions based on experimental data.
- Work closely with engineers across control, testing, and layout disciplines to ensure integrated product development.
- Maintain design documentation and prepare technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications for the Role
- MS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics
- Strong knowledge of power conversion topologies, power semiconductors, and low voltage
- Proficient in simulation and design tools: Ansys Maxwell/Icepak, SIMetrix, PLECS, Matlab/Simulink, LTspice, Altium Designer
- Experience in prototype converter design, testing, and lab equipment usage (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, etc.)
- Skilled in technical documentation, specification analysis, and effective communication. You like working in a dynamic environment with a multicultural approach
- At ease communicating in English
- Experience in SSCB design and power semiconductor reliability (thermal cycling, aging) is a plus
