This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop, plan, and implement procurement strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for an assigned category or group of categories. Each day, you will ensure execution in accordance with company, procurement, and supply base management instructions and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by recommending frame agreements to management and executing upon approval.

This role is contributing to the Motion business based at Bangalore, India:

• Based on need (R&D, Engineering, capacity enhancement) Identifies new suppliers in cooperation with relevant category team. Qualifies new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists
• Ensures the accurate application of Group guidelines to drive improvement in cost, quality, delivery and working capital (payment terms, lead times, order quantities and purchased material inventory)
• Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews pricelists, terms, and conditions.
• Oversees supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolves performance issues.
• Aligns supplier orders with customer requirements (based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price.
• Collaboration with entire value chain within organization, conducting/participating in meetings/taking actions for sub-team's agreed organizational causes and programs
• Periodic appraisal to management on costs, developments, futuristic trends, supplier market trends, RM progression, product costing
• Self Driven individual with good analytical skills and collaborative approach.
• Leveraging the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing process for implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.
• Managing planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending, and savings forecasts.
• Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, and terms and conditions.
• Ensuring identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability) in accordance with company policies.

Desirable Attributes

• Should cost model, Value Engineering activities and has relevant experience with Design to Cost approach
• Experience with supplier identification, assessment, and development processes with knowledge of PPAP, APQP is advisable
• Strong Negotiation skills, contract and cost management
• Ability to interact, communicate, collaborate and work effectively with all stakeholders - Global & Local cross functional teams and suppliers
• Strong technical background with basic understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & control systems and developing specifications.
• Knowledge on Transformers and E-House/Containers will be considered as advantage
• Sound knowledge of Supplier Base, preferably in Wind Converter and Cabinet supply Chain experience
• Good communication skills, written and verbal (English)
• Challenges status-quo, demonstrated 'idea to implementation of Value engineering initiatives
• Ability to work with Global teams and drives impactful results under pressure
• Proactive and Persistent, thrives on solving Supply Chain Challenges
• Willingness to travel (Domestic and International if required)

Qualifications for the role

• Full Time BE or B.Tech Ele or EEE
• Diploma with strong Domain experience
• Experience of 8 to 12 years
• Knowledge in Sourcing, Developing components and systems for Renewables
• Negotiation and budget costing will be added advantage
