Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service executing service work as per customer order and expectation. You will ensure customer retention by effectively communicating the service work timeline and expectations.
The work model for the role is: Remote (New Jersey)
This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in the New Jersey region.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Work on-site with the customer, identifying opportunities to improve the customer's operation and eliminate their pain points.
- Perform field service tasks, identifying technical issues and performing analysis through on-site trouble shooting activities for which you are certified to perform.
- Prepare material lists for service activity and ensure all materials, parts, and equipment meet quality standards and are available for service activities.
- Perform installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end of life services, replacements, etc.
- Contribute to customer satisfaction by building and maintaining a positive relationship.
- Potentially identify new sales opportunities while working to meet the customer needs and communicate the opportunities internally.
- Proactively identify potential equipment failures and request proactive corrective actions.
- Proactively identify product and quality improvement.
- Provide recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service.
- Follow safety rules and maintain safe work and environmental practices. Report unsafe practices and incidents.
Qualifications for the Role
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering Technology with 1+ years of work experience servicing critical power equipment; or Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with 3+ years' experience in servicing critical power equipment; or 5 years equivalent work/military experience
- Electrical Licenses or certifications (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, NICET, NFPA70E, OSHA 10/30)
- Experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical power systems, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDU), static switches (STS), and related systems
- Advanced ability to write test plans, scope of work and reports detailing test results
- Must have valid US Drivers License
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States.

Time off
ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.
While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $51,100 and $81,760 annually.
