Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Digital Solution Engineer, you will be a key member of the Production IS/IT & Digitalization team at ABB Electrification Smart Power Manufacturing Unit Västerås. This is a position designed for someone eager to grow and develop in an exciting Industry 4.0 environment. Our team is pioneers in manufacturing digitalization with the ambition of implementing cutting-edge technology and adopting best practices in industrial automation and smart manufacturing.

Make a real impact on manufacturing operations by working hands-on with both IT/OT infrastructure and software development. As part of a cross-functional agile team, you'll collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to drive user-centric solutions, contribute to AI/ML initiatives, and tackle real industrial challenges. Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who may not have all the answers yet, but has the right attitude, curiosity, and technical foundation to grow with us. You might be a recent graduate with some practical experience, or someone with a few years of experience looking to specialize in industrial digitalization. What matters most is your genuine interest in manufacturing environments and willingness to grow within the field of Industry 4.0

Your Responsibilities

• Develop digital solutions for operations, focusing on our MES platform, including backend services, integrations (C#/.NET), and user interface customization.
• Work with SQL databases for data modeling and querying.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
• Configure and manage integrations between applications and OT, as well as servers and gateways in IT/OT domains.
• Assist in IT/OT Security and Resilience.

Qualifications for the Role

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience in backend development using C# (.NET)
• Experience with SQL and database management
• Experience working with Git version control
• Basic knowledge of Network Infrastructure and IT Security
• Understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)
• Problem-solving skills in IT (hardware/software troubleshooting)
• Strong communication skills in spoken and written English and Swedish

Nice-To-Have Skills

• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar platforms
• Basic unit testing experience and test-driven development practices
• Basic understanding or deep interest in PLC programming and integration
• Basic experience in working with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Server management experience (Windows/Linux)
• Understanding of system layers in production (PLC, SCADA, MES)
• Interest in AI/ML solutions in manufacturing
