Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop an effective division sales strategy for the Process Automation Business Area, and their Process Industries division in Chile, and specifically targeted towards the Mining Industry, to improve ABB's market penetration and realize growth aspirations. Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of the sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for products, systems, and/or services delivered by the Business Area to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Sales organization (other sales managers and sales specialists within scope) to achieve the sales targets, through high performance.
You Will Be Mainly Accountable For:
- Leading and managing the entire sales force, including Account Managers and the Services Sales Manager, ensuring alignment with global strategy and its implementation at the local level.
- Anticipating and identifying shortfalls in performance, taking proactive remedial actions, and driving engagement and motivation across a high-performing team.
- Identifying and evaluating new business opportunities within the mining segment, defining account business plans, and coordinating proposals with internal teams.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives and decision-makers at major clients, while actively participating in networking events and industry forums.
- Overseeing budget management, risk analysis, and strategic negotiations for key contracts, ensuring compliance with standards and achievement of financial targets.
Mandatory Skills for This Role:
- Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement sales strategies, set ambitious goals, and create accurate forecasts to meet/exceed order and GM% targets, while aligning global strategy with local execution.
- Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience leading diverse sales teams (Account Managers, Service Sales Managers, Channel Managers), driving engagement, motivation, and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
- Sales Operations Expertise: Strong knowledge of end-to-end sales processes and compliance with corporate policies and tools (Risk Review, Due Diligence, SFDC, TPM), including coordination of proposals and budget management.
- Customer & Executive Relationship Management: Skilled in building long-term client relationships, resolving escalated issues, and confidently engaging with senior executives and decision-makers in key accounts.
- Global & Multicultural Communication: Experience operating in international environments, with excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation capabilities, and fluency in Spanish and advanced English.
Additional Requirements:
- Proven experience managing high-performing teams.
- Advanced English proficiency and native Spanish.
- Residence in Santiago, Chile, with availability to travel nationally and internationally (valid passport).
- Willingness to work mainly from an office setting (at least 3 days a week).
