Automation Field Service Engineer

This role is international, with customers across the globe. Sound like your next adventure? Read on! What will you do? You are the hero who ensures our customers can operate safely and efficiently—on ships all over the world! One day, you're working on a naval vessel in Den Helder, the next, you're in the port of Singapore. The ABB Marine & Ports division is divided into three areas: Drives (speed control of motors / DC-grid) Power (switchboards) Automation (process control, DCS, and systems like IAMCS, Power Management, and Propulsion Control). Your daily tasks include: Performing service and maintenance on automation and control systems Troubleshooting errors and faults in DCS and PLC systems Providing technical support—both on-site and remotely Motivating colleagues and subcontractors to achieve the best results Creating reports and documenting your work progress Advising customers on how to improve their systems even further Your team You'll be part of a great team of 17 service engineers, each specialized in one of the three disciplines. While you'll often work independently, teamwork is essential, and collaboration is key. We take care of everything for you—from logistics and hotels to a comfortable workspace abroad. Whenever there's a project, you can count on your team to find the best solution!

Who are you? You're not afraid of adventure—in fact, you see it as an opportunity to explore the world! You're someone who thrives while working abroad, loves taking responsibility, and always seeks to bring out the best in yourself and your team. You also have: A bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Technical Informatics, Industrial Automation, or Maritime Technology). Some experience in a technical service role, preferably in the maritime industry. Fluent English skills (spoken and written). A valid driver's license (B). Since this role involves frequent international travel, you're comfortable being away from home for extended periods.
